From Rome to Granada: Where Trees Whisper the Tales of Time
Having studied at Saint Martin’s School of Art and École des Beaux-Arts, Paris, Katharine Edwards now works in the UK, Spain and Italy.
Her large landscape paintings are an exploration of pattern and colour and her subjects include the iconic pine trees of Rome; eagles soaring over the scorched Andalusian plains; Mediterranean vistas and more. Featured in private collections in Europe, the US, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong – including the Contemporary Art Society for Wales and ING bank – Katharine’s work comes to Cricket Fine Art this September. Her vibrant depictions of European landscapes are broken down to deceptively simple lines; exploring the tension between the vertical and horizontal in these vast open spaces.
